Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

Pioneering the new-wave, near turn-of-the-21st-century superhero genre long before the films that usually get credit for it and also aiming for a much more mature audience, this kick-ass comic-book adaptation is an enjoyable ride throughout with an effortlessly cool central performance and an awesome knack for action. Its nineties stylings only occasionally come close to cheesy and its relatively generic plot isn't quite so much 'seen it before' as 'I can tell where it's going to go', but the hyper-energetic action set-pieces and confidently laid-back spirit are infectious in a surprising way. 7/10

Now there are many vampire shows out there with a lot of great action but we have to remember where it all started back in the nineties with movies like John Carpenter's Vampires and the Blade series starring Wesley Snipes. You don't hear much about Wesley Snipes any more but back then he was a very big star in a lot of action movies and this is probably his best work.He plays a half human half vampire who has a lot of the powers vampires do but without the problem of being killed by sunlight, etc. He has a partner (Kris Kristofferson) who helps him hunt and kill evil vampires using a combination of specially designed firearms and Snipes uses swords and martial arts. The result is a lot of great action sequences, some funny one liners and a surprisingly good story. What more could you want in a fun action movie?

I love this film, and rate it a notch above some of the other great action films of our time because it has a really well thought out story line and action. Great music and effects for that time. And its rated R.I've seen it few times. Best Vampire movie by miles! Enjoy!

A half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires. Pretty much everyone knows that before X-Men (2000) Marvel was basically a nobody and movies such as Captain America (1990) and Fantastic Four (1994) prove how the 90's were a bad time for them but somewhere around 1998 a little film called 'Blade' hit the big screen and it turned out to be Marvel's first big movie that both fans and critics liked (except Rotten Tomatoes as always). Blade has been perfectly casted as Wesley Snipes he is entertaining and just epic in every scene that he is in it also Kris Kristofferson as Whistler great character played by an excellent actor. Now the action is terrific especially the opening scene in the Club where Blade goes full beast mode in a bunch of vampires that was pretty awesome, the villains played by Stephen Dorff, Arly Jover and Donal Logue were also pretty good but i'll get in a bit more spoiler territory in a second. Now as far as the villains went and the basic story about the Blood God and that whole thing i found it very cheesy i mean there's a scene where Deacon Frost says that Blood God is the toughest and most powerful vampire that has ever lived on this world and yet in less than 4 minutes he turns into a balloon after Blade shoots him with his serum and i felt that there was no real danger for the hero at all and the same goes for the other 2 villains especially Quinn i mean his death was pretty quick and disappointing but at the same time kinda badass and the same goes for Mercury all 3 of them were killed pretty easily and the whole plan of Frost in the end was kinda retarded if you think about it plus you do get the feeling that you're watching a 90's film thanks to those crappy cgi effects but overall Blade is still a fun film i still freaking enjoyed the hell out of it in terms of action, acting and characters it's a 10 easily but it does have it's fair share of flaws and that is mostly with the 3rd act and Frost's gigantic master plan. The sequels that followed i have reviewed them ages ago and i gotta say after watching Blade (1998) once again i still think that Blade II is the Best of the Trilogy not just because of the cool story with the Reapers but also because of the excellent director behind which is Guillermo del Toro now as far as Blade Trinity goes? I do understand that it does have some flaws not many but just some here and there but the villain and the 3rd act it's still miles better than this film's ending. I'm going to give Blade an A-
